Bills and How to Contact My Elected Officials

In every congressional session, thousands of bills, resolutions, and concurrent resolutions are introduced, and only a fraction becomes law. So for organization’s sake, each bill is categorized into groups of important issues.

Every elected official believes in listening to their constituents and it is important for constituents to vocalize their opinions. To look them up, please click on the following link: https://www.usa.gov/elected-officials

For the quickest communication, it is highly recommended to contact your elected officials by phone.

Here is a recommended template to say to your elected official:

Good morning/afternoon my name is _________________ and I am calling about Senate/House Bill #____ and asking that elected official becomes a supporter and a cosponsor to this bill. (Then provide reasons why.)
If they are, please thank them for their support and ask them to vote for the bill. If they are not cosponsoring, please explain to me why. I would also like their response in writing.
